Each UNI-SOLAR module utilizes the proprietary Triple Junction silicon solar cells of United Solar. These cells are made in a roll-to-roll deposition process on a continuous roll of stainless steel sheet metal. The result is a unique, flexible, light-weight cell.

The modules are exceptionally durable. They are encapsulated in UV stabolized polymers and framed with anodized aluminum. A coated Galvalume steel backing plate provides stiffness. The polymer encapsulation includes EVA and fluoropolymer Tefzel, A DuPont film

Bypass diodes are connected across each cell, allowing the modules to produce power even when partially shaded. Each module has a weather resistant junction box designed to accept 1/2" conduit. These modules are appropriate for all applications from simple single module requirements to high voltage grid-connected installations

Triple Junction Technology

The heart of the new UNI-SOLAR modules is the Triple Junction silicon solar cell unique to United Solar. Each cell is composed of three semiconductor junctions stacked on top of each other. The bottom cell absorbs the red light; the middle cell absorbs the green light and the top cell absorbs the blue light. This spectrum splitting capability is the key to higher efficiency.

UNI-SOLAR WINS SOLAR SHOOT OUT

Comparison between Unisolar Seimens and Astropower modules This test was set up and reported by Unisolar June 20-21, 1998 .

US 64 (64 watts) puts more amp hours in the battery than Siemens SP75 (75 watts), and Astropower AP7105 (75 watts) solar electric modules!

On June 20th and 21st in Hopland, California an array of four randomly selected and then soaked for 130 days at Sandia Labs. The results displayed that the Uni-Solar US 64 watt modules considerably outperformed the competition, single crystal silicon solar modules. Representatives from Siemens, Astropower, and United Solar were present in Northern California for this summer solstice shoot-out. The test proved that Uni-Solar Triple Junction silicon technology could be far superior to single crystal for real world solar applications.

The US-64 put 8-13% more absolute energy into the batteries over a two day period and generated 26% more normalized energy than either of the competitors. What does this mean for YOU? Only the biggest solar breakthrough in the last 20 years - more usable amperage generated per purchased watt! When you purchase solar power, you buy wattage. Price per watt drives the solar industry. It now becomes clear that watts generated by Uni-Solar Triple Junction silicon modules are a better value than those generated by other modules.

CONCLUSION: Triple Junction silicon gives you a much better value (more amps) for dollar spent on solar electric wattage!!

Sundanzer Refrigerators

The Sundanzer line of refrigerators and freezers are the most energy efficient existing the market today. They are compressor driven and can run off a 12/24VDC system - no switching necessary.

The super insulated units feature 11cm of polyurethane insulation with powder coated galvanized steel exterior and aluminum interior. They are provided with a drain hole at the bottom wich makes cleaning much easier.
